Hi. My name is Brian Holtz. I'm a software engineer at Yahoo in
Sunnyvale, and I live in Los Altos with my wife and three
daughters. I'm a Libertarian running for Congress here on
the Peninsula to spread the word that there is an
intelligent alternative to the tired old division between Democrats on
the Left and Republicans on the Right.
Democrats don't trust you to make decisions about your own money.
Republicans don't trust you to make decisions about your own
body. There is a third party that is neither Left nor Right,
neither Liberal nor Conservative, that instead combines the best of
both. The Libertarian Party trusts you to make decisions about your own
money AND your own body.
The Democrats want government to be your nanny. The Republicans
want government to be your chaperone.
We Libertarians want government
to be just your referee and lifeguard, and to treat you like a
grownup. We want to get
the Republicans out of your bedroom,
and
the Democrats out of your wallet.
Now some people say that voting for a third party is wasting your vote.
But your one vote isn't about tipping
the outcome
of the election. Your vote is about standing up for what you
believe. If you believe that the Democrats aren't left-wing
enough,
then vote Green or Peace and Freedom.
If you believe that the
Republicans aren't right-wing enough, then vote Constitution Party or
American Independent. But if you believe that Left and Right are both
half-wrong, then vote Libertarian to stand up for that belief.
Vote Libertarian to stand up against corporate welfare and selfish
special interests. Vote Libertarian to stand up for the environment by
legally recognizing its economic value. Vote Libertarian to stand up
for innovative
market-based
solutions in education, health care, and retirement security.
I'm so confident in these Libertarian ideas that I'll make a bet right
now
with any registered voter in my district. If you read enough of my
website to pass a short quiz on my positions, and you can still say you won't vote for me,
then I'll mail you a $5 bill. I firmly believe that if you just listen
to my
message of free minds and free markets, then you'll be too embarrassed
to take my free money.
Now, free money is the reason why 98% of the politicians in Congress
win re-election. They buy YOUR vote with your neighbor's tax
dollars, and they buy your neighbor's
vote
with YOUR tax dollars. Even worse, they buy your vote with debts and
promises that our children and grandchildren will have to pay for. If
you agree
that's wrong, then check out the fresh ideas at

Libertarian alternative in all the races on your ballot.
